A paper from Secure Computing Research Team has been accepted for publication in IEEE Global Communications Conference (IEEE GLOBECOM 2008) and will be presented on Computer and Communications Network Security Symposium (GC’08 CCNS) in New Orleans this December.
The paper, titled “Support Vector Machines and Random Forests Modeling for Spam Senders Behavior Analysis”, analyzes global and high-dimensional sensor distribution data with two advanced data mining techniques, Support Vector Machines and Random Forests.
TrustedSource operates on the proprietary data gathered from thousands of mail, web and firewall sensors placed at gateways in over 80 countries worldwide. It gives a unique view into global enterprise email, web and network patterns. Our study demonstrates that the global distribution information combined with advanced classification techniques can be reliable and efficient for spam sender detection.
Themed for “Building A Better World Through Communications”, IEEE GLOBECOM 2008 is the Premier Telecommunications Event for Industry Professionals and Academics from Companies, Governmental Agencies, and Universities around the World. CCNS is a Globecom Symposium focused on computer and network security research.
